Snooping children’s text messages has always been a
debatable subject. But the thing is, kids have now got a lot more avenues to
expand their texting experience. And a lot of these platforms allow strangers
to access kid’s phones as well. A lot of minor solicitation, stalking,
harassment and bullying is carried out through these platforms. So it’s not
like kids are just talking to their friends anymore. There are unwanted strangers
that have a straight line of communication to your kids.
So let’s put forth is question again—is it worthwhile to spy iMessage, texts, or emails or their
kids? If you’re still confused, let’s dig a little deeper.
iMessage Use Hits an All-time High
Apple reported that they handle ‘several billion’ iMessages
in a single day from its users. So
imagine, how often your kids might be using this service. Not to mention, this
is instant messaging we’re talking about, so kids are no problem staying up all
night or giving up constructive activities over tapping away on their phones.
But then you read surveys which say that nearly one-fifth
of the interviewed parents were shocked to see what they found on their kids’
messages, and it makes you rethink the entire issue altogether.
Freedom or Safety?
I suppose this is what the age old debate boils down to. Not
whether parents should monitor iMessaes or not. It’s not like the parents want
to go through the kids’ phones to frame them or make them feel bad. It’s that
they are looking after their safety. So freedom or safety? Both. But how?
Through a simple remote monitoring app called XNSPY.
What is Remote Parental Monitoring?
XNSPY is essentially a parental control app with a twist.
The twist being that it runs quietly in the background of the child’s iPhone. But
at the same time it records and uploads every iMessage that the kid sends onto
an online control panel that only the parent has access to. This gives the
parents full tools to ensure their kid’s safety, but also gives the kids the
freedom they want. This is because it functions in a completely non-intrusive
manner. Plus, you can also create alerts for suspicious words and contacts used
or contacted in the iMessages.
How is Remote Monitoring Better?
When monitoring your children, you could either take an
active or passive method. The active method includes you actually asking for
their iPhones and reading iMessages. In this scenario, you are either going to
meet with a lot of protests. Or you’ll be wrongly guided. Who is to say they
won’t delete suspicious messages before you can see them?
If you choose the passive method—which in this case is
remote monitoring—you can expect to see your child’s digital behavior for what
it really is. You can properly see how they use their iMessage, who they talk
to and what they talk about. You will have the complete raw data.
Parenting Through iPhones
But here’s the thing—your ability to spy iMessage through XNSPY is only half the deal. In the other
half, you point out things they do wrong and have a real (yes, active) conversation with them. It is
not just enough to catch them red handed, but to explain to them why what they
are doing is wrong. However, monitoring must not be a one-time thing. By installing XNSPY onto their iPhones, you’re committing to be a full-time
digital parent!
